While it is in many way a good thing to start with bigger helis, you have to remember that any crash costs will similarly be higher too.  Please do spend quite some time on any decent simulator before trying to fly any RC heli.

Also, for a 90 size heli like the Trex 700, please do take either the help of any local RC shop personnel, OR visit one of the local fields and seek help from experienced fliers there.  If you come to Wakra, I can help train you on a buddy cord (of course on a "as time permits" basis).

Sorry for not being able to respond earlier, was out of action this weekend (did not go to the RC field either).

The very basic model (mostly indoor) is the Lama co-axial ones.  But that is for absolute beginners, and people outgrow it pretty soon.

The next step is the Align 450 (or Thunder Tiger Mini Titan).  You can also get clones of the Align one, but have to order from the internet.

These 450 class helis, coupled with training skids and some sim time is the way most people start in Qatar.  Others start on the bigger helis (Raptor 50, Trex 600, or even bigger ones like the Trex 700), but rest assured that your pocket will be affected if you do not do it on your own.  Always seek help either from the shops or from established fliers.

Come to Wakra field on Friday morning (7am these days), and you can see what people are flying, and get help.
